The first official event of our Rose Festival year 2007.

Royal Rosarian Memorial Service and Blessing of the Portland Rose Festival. The Royal Rosarians present the Blessing of the Festival with joint participation by the Portland Rose Festival Association, the Portland Rose Society and the Blueback Submarine Council of the United States Navy League.

The memorial service honors the memory of those who have passed away during the previous year from these organizations. Each year, a different Portland church or synagogue is chosen to host the event. This year's service will be held at the beautiful Worship Center of

Parking is plentiful and will be designated.

The event also features the first public presentation of the 2007 Rose Festival Court; fourteen outstanding young women that carry the title of "Princess" and are true leaders for the future of the Rose City. After the ceremony, a rose planting will take place followed by a reception with light refreshments. Please mark your calendar accordingly and plan to attend along with some guests. Let us make this Centennial Celebration of the Portland Rose Festival the best ever!
